Financial aid seminar planned

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The Child Education Center is hosting a

program on how to pay for a college education.

David Levy, assistant dean and director of financial aid at

Caltech and Catherine Thomas, associate dean of admissions and

financial aid at USC, will be the guest speakers. They will discuss

ways to develop a financial plan to fund college educations.

The program is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 8. It's free.

Reservations must be made by March 6. The program will be in the

fourth-floor council room at Verdugo Hills Hospital, 1812 Verdugo

Red Cross plans Super CPR Saturday

GLENDALE -- The Glendale-Crescenta Valley Chapter of the American

Red Cross will hold a Super CPR Saturday on March 1 at its

headquarters.

Students will learn how to perform adult CPR through lecture, a

written test and hands-on training. The cost is $5 per student,

compared with the normal cost of $31 per student.

Two sessions will be offered, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.

Chamber seeks prizes for mixer

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The La Canada Flintridge Chamber of

Commerce and Community Assn. is looking for merchants who wish to

donate raffle prizes to its upcoming mixer.

Those interested should call the chamber at 790-4289. The mixer is

from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at California Waterscapes, 2729 Foothill

Blvd. in La Crescenta.
