"It is really our cornerstone event of the year for the

foundation," said David Burghart, president of the Healthcare

Foundation at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. "Everybody can get

involved. It's fun, and a chance for the community to come together

to say, 'We support what you are doing.'"

This year, the foundation is trying to raise $125,000 toward a new

pediatric and adult rehabilitation clinic to be built in Eagle Rock,

Burghart said.

The theme of the event is "Making a Difference Together."

The gala's entertainment will include 12-year-old singer Rachelle

Dobin, a Simi Valley resident, and violinist Jaime Jorge, a recording

artist.

Larry Zarian, former mayor and City Councilman, will receive the

hospital foundation's Erwin J. Remboldt Award for Outstanding

Leadership and Philanthropy. The Distinguished Citizen Award will be

given to Tye Veden, a founding member of the foundation.

Burghart said many seats have already been sold, but interested

parties should call the foundation at 548-4099.
