University softball -- Middlebury saw its record-breaking season
finish May 3 with two consecutive losses in the New England Small
College Athletic Conference.
Guza helped Middlebury set a school record for wins in a season
with 17, as she started 29 games and batted .400 with a .444 on-base
percentage.
The sophomore fared well in her second season at Middlebury, as
she led her team in runs (26), triples (two) and stolen bases
(seven).
Guza was second in hits (40), slugging percentage (.490) and total
bases (49).
Mark McCauley (Crescenta Valley, 2000), junior infielder, Cal
State Northridge baseball -- This wasn't the type of season McCauley
had hoped for when he transferred from USC.
The Matadors had a season they would rather forget, as they went
14-42, including 8-13 in Big West Conference.
Cal State Northridge also lost five of its final seven games.
McCauley held his own, batting .318. He had 49 hits and 66 hits,
both of which ranked him second on his team.
