"She's focused to go. One of our goals was to challenge ourselves

in practice every time. If you constantly do that, you're going to

"Ciri made the decision that she wanted to be great, and she's

been great," Spartan pitcher Dani Mellin said.

soccer this season, instead concentrating on taking her play to

another level.

Bryan had been playing soccer since she was 4, but she knew

softball would provide her the best opportunity to play in college.

She's reached new heights since making that decision, although it

was a tough one.

"I knew I could take softball to a higher level because I love

playing softball and it's something that comes naturally," said

Bryan, who has a .784 slugging percentage, a .488 batting average and

a .546 on-base percentage in her varsity career. "I play softball

because I want to be the best out there.

"I want to show people that I could succeed."

She's succeeded and people have noticed. Bryan said she's received

letters from the University of Michigan, Illinois, Arkansas,

Louisiana Tech University and UC Santa Barbara.

Bryan understands how far she's come, but she's far from finished.

"I want to improve on everything," she said. "There is always room

for improvement. If you think that you are the best and you stop

working, people are going to get better than you.

"There is no stopping."
