June 12, 2003

A West Covina man got away with scrapes and possibly a broken leg

Wednesday after he plunged 75 feet over the side of Angeles Crest

Highway on his motorcycle.

The 22-year-old man, whom police declined to identify, was on his

way up Angeles Crest Highway about five miles north of La Canada

Flintridge when he lost control on a curve, California Highway Patrol

Officer Vince Bell said.

The man apparently lost control of his 1993 Yamaha motorcycle and,

after the wreck, was flown to Huntington Memorial Hospital by Los

Angeles County Fire helicopter, Bell said.

The accident was still under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
