Lizards, snakes, gators visit library

LA CRESCENTA -- For a few hours Saturday, the La Crescenta Library

will transform into the La Crescenta Zoo.

As part of the library's summer reading program, Alligator Al's

Traveling Reptile Pals is coming to the children's library.

Alligator Al will bring snakes, lizards and even a live alligator

to his performance, which is designed to be entertaining and

educational.

Alligator Al will have shows at 2 and 3 p.m. at the library, 4521

La Crescenta Ave.

BladeRunners invade Descanso Gardens

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The BladeRunners, a four-piece bluegrass

band, will perform at Descanso Gardens on Sunday, as part of

Descanso's Under the Oaks Concert Series.

The BladeRunners play a mix of traditional songs and originals in

a high-energy performance, using a five-string banjo, upright bass,

guitar, mandolin and fiddle.

The concert begins at 3 p.m. at the Under the Oaks Theater, 1418

Descanso Drive.

Admission is $6, $4 for students, $1.50 for children younger than

12 and free for children younger than 5.
