Hospital officials: Teen still in critical condition

NORTHWEST GLENDALE -- A Glendale boy remained in critical

condition Wednesday after his car crashed into a light pole and a

tree the day before, hospital officials said.

The 16-year-old was driving a Toyota Camry at 60 to 70 mph on

Tuesday, Glendale Police spokeswoman Officer Leticia Chang said. When

the teen apparently tried to pass another car between Concord Street

and Highland Avenue, his Camry veered across the westbound lanes of

Glenoaks Boulevard, knocked over a light pole and crashed into a

tree.

The speed limit on Glenoaks is 40 mph.

No other information was released about the teen's condition

because of confidentially issues, police and hospital officials said.
