Independence is theme for talk
GLENDALE -- "Declare Your Independence" is the theme of the Sunday
talk by Rev. Marilyn Jensen-Johnson at the Religious Science Church
of Glendale, which meets at the YWCA, 735 E. Lexington Ave.
Meditation is at 9:30 a.m., and service and Sunday school are at
10 a.m. A six-week workshop on prosperity will begin Monday at the

Two honored at Spirit of America ceremony
GLENDALE -- Jennifer Russell of Montrose and David F. King of
Burbank will be honored during the free Fourth of July "Spirit of
America Celebration" at 9 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints, 1101 N. Central Ave.
Russell, director of Glendale's Character & Ethics Kids Choir, is
being honored for her work with the youth choir, whose purpose is to
promote unity in the community. The choir will perform during the
celebration.
King is past president of the Kiwanis Club of Burbank, past
president of the Verdugo Hills Council of Boy Scouts of America and a
founding member of Leadership Burbank.
