City to consider animal-care needs

GLENDALE CITY HALL -- The city of Glendale is seeking public input

on the future of animal-care needs in the community, including the

possibility of establishing a new shelter.

Glendale will host a community input meeting Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. in

City Council chambers, 613 E. Broadway.

City offering low-cost pet vaccinations

GLENDALE -- The city of Glendale and the Southern California

Veterinary Medical Assn. are sponsoring a low-cost rabies vaccination

clinic from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at two locations.

For dogs, rabies vaccinations cost $5, the six-in-one inoculation

costs $12 and the corona and bordetella shots cost $9 each.

For cats, the rabies vaccination costs $5 and the four-in-one shot

costs $12.

The vaccinations will be offered at the P-2 level of the city

parking structure at 650 E. Wilson Ave., and at Fire Station No. 28,

4410 New York Ave. in La Crescenta.

Serenaders coming to Glendale High

SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- The Glendale Community Concert Assn. will

present Orange Kellin's New Orleans Serenaders on Sept. 28, the

second of seven community concerts scheduled this season at Glendale

High School.

The concert series costs $45, and includes admission to each

community concert in Glendale as well as ones sponsored by other

Southern California-based community concert associations.

The concert begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Glendale High School

College to host swap meet Sunday

NORTHEAST GLENDALE -- Glendale Community College will host its

monthly swap meet/flea market Sunday.

The swap meet is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the college's upper

parking lot, 1500 N. Verdugo Road. The parking lot is at the corner

of Mountain Street and the Glendale (2) Freeway.

Parking in the upper lot costs $2, and parking in the lower lot,

near the college's tennis courts, is free.

The swap meet is free and open to the public. The event will

include antiques, collectibles, jewelry, vintage clothing, furniture,

dolls, books, handcrafted items, tools, musical instruments and more.

Dealer spaces are available for $35. For more information, call
