Commission to hold monthly meeting

GLENDALE CITY HALL -- The Parks, Recreation and Community Services

Commission will hold its monthly meeting at 3:30 p.m. today in Room

105 of the Municipal Services Building, 633 E. Broadway.

The commission will discuss a youth sports group survey and

assessment, Stengel Field maintenance and the 2003 summer day camp

Resident reappointed to county board

GLENDALE -- A local real estate broker and member of the Glendale

Board of Realtors was recently reappointed to the County Assessment

Appeals Board.

Glendale resident Anita Lopez has served on the board for the past

nine years. Lopez's reinstatement was unanimously approved by the

County Board of Supervisors.

Lopez is a self-employed licensed real estate broker for Lopez

Realty Inc.

LCF City Council meeting rescheduled

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The regular La Canada Flintridge City

Council meeting scheduled for Monday has been changed to Wednesday

due to the Yom Kippur holiday. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in City

Hall council chambers, 1327 Foothill Blvd.

Kiwanis club installs new president

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Dave Hemstreet is the new president of the

Kiwanis Club of La Canada-AM.

Margot Siess led the club in 2002-03, during which it collected

and distributed $250,000 in surplus food, donated more than $10,000

to youth and community service organizations and volunteered about

2,000 hours of service to charitable groups.

Joining Hemstreet on the board of directors is President-elect

Sherrill Carbonetti; Vice President Dick Barley; Secretary Rosemary

Hook; Treasurer Martha Burns; and directors John Barstad, Erik Fiske,

Joy Gibson, Frances Hill, Shirley Hingst and Joyce Ruygrok.

The Kiwanis Club meets at 7:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the Church of

the Lighted Window, 1200 Foothill Blvd. For more information, call
