Claire Collison scored twice, and Paige Pearson and Annie Sahl
each added a goal for the Flamin' Red Devils, who dropped Vartan
Ghermezian's Blue U Away squad to 2-2-2.
Bailey Bagheri, Tess Florio and Taylor Luskin all contributed to
the shutout by sharing time in goal. Vianka Angulo, Brittany Bagheri
and Nicole Fernandes excelled on defense for the Flamin' Red Devils,
who received great offensive support from Raelynn Eubanks, Hannah
McLoughlin and Mackinsey Woolever.
Orange 4, Pretty in Pink 4: Despite increasing its area-leading
goal total to 27, Orange (5-0-1) couldn't pull away from a gritty
Pretty in Pink squad (1-2-3) in Saturday's match at Toll Middle
School.
The tie dropped Christina Jacobson's Orange squad into a
first-place tie with the Flamin' Red Devils (5-0-1).
Thirteen Ghosts 5, Bananas in Pajamas 0: With Saturday's victory
at the Glendale Sports Complex, Coach Patrick Chavez's Thirteen
Ghosts won their fifth straight match and recorded their second
shutout of the season.
During their five-match winning streak since a season-opening 2-1
loss to the Flamin' Red Devils, Thirteen Ghosts (5-1) have outscored
their opponents, 23-4, to move into third place behind Flamin' Red
Devils (5-0-1) and Orange (5-0-1).
Power Rangers 1, Brazil Power 1: Nicole Ambriz scored off an
assist from Molly Racanelli for Brazil Power (2-3-1), but Marisa
Dodge provided the equalizer with about five minutes left off an
assist from Kendra Fellows for the Power Rangers (2-1-3) in
Saturday's tie at Toll Middle School.
For Richard Kipling's Brazil Power squad, Megan Turner played well
in goal, and was helped in large part by the defensive effort of
Tyler Kipling.
Carolyn Geoghegan, Sarah McDonnell and Kelsey Ro all played well
for Brazil Power.
Aymie Ballesteros, Emily Erskine, Katie Hammond, Alexis Osborn,
Anna Peterson all contributed for Chris Erskine's Power Rangers.
Teen Attitude 3, The Rockin' Red Rhinos 1: Coach Carlos Cruz's
Teen Attitude squad improved to 2-3-1 with Saturday's win at Toll
Middle School.
