Blair, 8-3, in an opening-round match.
Valerie Chen and Diana Kim lost to Chu and Su, 8-3, in the first
round.
In singles competition, Alison Sanders of La Canada dropped a
quarterfinal decision to South Pasadena's Rada Literate after
defeating Tiffany Ting of Blair, 8-3, in the first round. La Canada's
Amanda Yue fell to San Marino's Tiffany Lee in a quarterfinal match
after beating Temple City's Francine Lai, 8-1.
GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3, Mission Hills Alemany 0: The
Tologs clinched no worse than a share of their second Mission League
title in the past three years, posting a 25-15, 25-15, 25-19 triumph
Tuesday on the road.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (13-8, 8-1 in league) -- winners of 11 of
its past 12 -- was led by the outside-hitting tandem of Kelly Smiland
(11 kills and eight digs) and Katie Kriste (10 kills and nine digs),
along with setter Brittany Esser, who tallied 25 assists, five kills,
six blocks and seven digs.
Caitlin Withers recorded 11 digs and Kelly Herbert had three kills
and four blocks for the Tologs, who have won eight straight matches.
The Tologs will host Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (12-3, 7-2) at 6:15
p.m. today with an outright league title on the line.
Sierra Madre Alverno 3, Holy Family 0: The Gaels continued their
second-half struggles, falling in Tuesday's Horizon League road
match, 25-12, 25-21, 25-15.
Allisa Jacques had eight kills and four digs, Melanie Figueroa
tallied six kills, Laura Estrada recorded three kills and Angie
Gutierrez amassed eight assists for Holy Family (6-12, 2-7 in
league).
