Los Angeles County Coroner's officials Tuesday released the name of a
man killed in an early morning collision with a freeway pillar.
Myron Tarverdi, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene about 12:17
a.m. Thursday after his 1987 Nissan Sentra crashed into a freeway
pillar on Verdugo Road, under the Ventura (134) Freeway. Tarverdi was
apparently driving south on Verdugo from Monterey Road, Glendale
Police Traffic Lt. Don Meredith said.
Coroner's officials determined Tarverdi died from multiple blunt
force injuries.
The collision was still being investigated Monday because there
were no witnesses to the crash and police believe Tarverdi did not
apply his brake, Meredith said. Rain was not a factor in the
collision, he said.
Police are looking for witnesses to the accident. Witnesses can
call the Glendale Police Traffic Bureau at 548-3132. Anonymous tips
