The council, meeting in closed session, authorized City Manager
Mark Alexander to make an offer to Los Angeles County for purchase of
some of its flood-control property located along the Flint Canyon
Trail.

The council, meeting in closed session, authorized City Manager
Mark Alexander to make an offer to Los Angeles County for purchase of
some of its flood-control property located along the Flint Canyon
Trail.
WHAT IT MEANS
Alexander will negotiate with the county to purchase a
5,220-square-foot parcel midway between Cherry Canyon and the Devils
Gate Reservoir to be used as a small park or a rest area for hikers
or riders using the trail.
VOTE
The council voted 4-0 to authorize making an offer for the
purchase, with Councilwoman Laura Olhasso absent.
CABLE STUDY
WHAT HAPPENED
The council voted to appropriate $8,000 for consulting services
and a cable-TV needs survey.
WHAT IT MEANS
Consultant REX Telecom Group will perform several functions,
including surveying residents on the performance of Charter
Communications as the city's cable television provider. The city will
use the information as leverage during negotiations for a new
contract with the cable provider.
VOTE
The council voted 4-0 to appropriate the funding, with Olhasso
absent.
