A Glendale man reportedly shot and killed his estranged wife Tuesday

during a counseling session in Encino and turned the gun on himself.

Los Angeles Police on Tuesday night were still investigating the

murder-suicide shooting that occurred about 12:45 p.m. in an office

building at 15720 Ventura Blvd., LAPD Officer Jason Lee said.

The couple, who had not been identified Tuesday night by the

coroner's office, were reportedly in the session for an hour and a

half before the shooting.

During the session, the wife apparently told her husband that she

wanted a divorce.

Police said the man went to his car and got a semiautomatic

handgun and shot her. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene,

said Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.

The man then shot himself, according to news reports. He died

later at a hospital, Corral said.
