Night painting to be demonstrated

MONTROSE -- Thomas Van Stein, who paints landscapes illuminated by

the moon or streetlights, will be the demonstrating artist for the

Verdugo Hills Art Assn. meeting at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the community

room at Citibank, 2350 Honolulu Ave., Montrose.

Van Stein will also give a workshop from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Participants will meet at Citibank before going out onto the

sidewalks to paint. The workshop cost is $45, $50 for nonmembers. For

Live jazz rocks Clancy's Crab Shack

GLENDALE -- Live jazz returns Friday to Clancy's Crab Shack with

the Ralph Moore Quartet, featuring Moore, Josh Nelson, Trevor Ware

and Lorca Hart. Moore is with the NBC Tonight Show Band and has

toured with Ray Charles and Ray Brown. The cover charge is $8.

Clancy's is at 219 N. Central Ave., Glendale. For more information,

Kristin Korb Trio jazzes up the month

GLENDALE -- The Kristin Korb Trio will appear at the monthly Jazz

Celebrations at 5 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church, 1300 E.

Colorado St., Glendale. Korb mixes her talents on acoustic bass, in

the vein of Ray Brown, with vocals similar to Ella Fitzgerald and

Sarah Vaughan.

A freewill offering will be accepted. For more information, call
