The Glendale Panthers' Blue team moved closer to clinching a

playoff berth with a pair of wins last week.

Glendale posted a 61-28 victory against the Silver Bullets Blue on

Saturday at Chatsworth High. Shara Babakhanians led the Panthers with

14 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Teammate Elvin Youhanna

added 10 points and three steals, and Derik Ziraky contributed six

points and eight rebounds.

Shara Davoodi finished with six points, five rebounds and three

steals for the Panthers, who got six points and three steals from

Roni Yousefi. Vahe Nazaryan recorded five points and five rebounds

for Glendale, which got five points and seven rebounds from Arje

Ebrahimi.

Ronny Minasian scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds for

the Panthers, who built a 35-12 halftime lead. Teammate Greg

Gasparian added three points, Parshen Avanesian had two points and

Arshak Abramyan contributed two points, five rebounds and four

assists for the Panthers.

Glendale Panthers Blue Team 50, Northridge Knights 30: Shara

Babakhanians posted 12 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and two

assists to power the Panthers on Sunday at Glendale High.

Arshak Abramyan contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds and two assists

for the Panthers, who got six points, 10 rebounds and two assists

from Arje Ebrahimi. Derik Ziraky scored six points for Glendale,

which got five points apiece from Roni Yousefi and Greg Gasparian.

Elvin Youhanna finished with two points and added three assists

for Panthers, who got two points from Parshen Avanesian.

"We're getting stronger every game," Glendale Coach Mike Hailey

said. "We have to continue improving since we're the underdog this

year and there are some pretty big teams out there."

Glendale will next play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday against the Glendale

Panthers' Gold team at Glendale High. A victory by the Blue team

would assure itself of a playoff spot.

Arteen Aghazarian notched 14 points, five rebounds and three steals

Sunday to spark CV in a Valley Conference game Sunday at Glendale

High.

Michael Crownover recorded 13 points and a game-high seven

rebounds for CV (7-2). George Paijuk had 10 points, four steals and

two assists for the Falcons, who received four points, four steals

and four assists from Drew Elliot.

Aghazarian had 10 third-quarter points to spur a 16-0 run.

Eric Strangis notched 14 points, four assists and three steals for
