Arcadia 185, Crescenta Valley 189: Damian Yi and Paul Young shot

each shot an even-par 36 on Tuesday at Santa Anita Golf Course, but

it wasn't enough, as CV dropped a Pacific League match.

Bill Varsh, a freshman, shot a 38, David Langer carded a 39 and

Sol Jung fired a 40 for the Falcons (2-1 overall and in league).

Arcadia's Kyle George was the low-medalist with a 34. Teammate

Jakie Guo had a 35.

CV will play Burbank at 2:30 p.m. today in a nonleague match at

De Bell Municipal Golf Course.

BOYS' VOLLEYBALL

Encino Crespi 3, St. Francis 2: The Golden Knights dropped their

Mission League opener, falling 21-25, 25-15, 26-28, 25-18, 16-14,

Tuesday night at Crespi.

Andrew Binder paced St. Francis (2-2, 0-1 in league) with 11

kills, and teammate Patrick Farmer added 27 assists. Tim Dietrich had

eight kills and 11 blocks for the Golden Knights, who received seven

kills from Justin Curio.

BOYS' TENNIS

Fullerton Troy 15, La Canada 3: The Spartans (1-1) fell to the defending CIF Southern Section Division I champion in a semifinal

match of the Glendora/Claremont Spring Classic on Thursday at the

Claremont Tennis Club.

La Canada's No. 2 doubles team of Robert Kerchof and Anand Muthiah

won two of their three sets. Jeffrey Pih and Jason Kim, La Canada's

No. 3 doubles tandem, won a set.

The Spartans will next face visiting Crescenta Valley in a

nonleague match at 3:15 p.m. today at the La Canada Country Club.

GIRLS' SWIMMING

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 102, L.A. Notre Dame Academy 65:

Bianca Marquez won two events in Tuesday's nonleague home meet.

Marquez clocked 1 minute 3.91 seconds to capture the 100-yard

butterfly. She then won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.22.

The Tologs (1-1) will next compete in another nonleague meet at

3:45 p.m. Thursday against host L.A. Marymount.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Glendale Community College 7, Citrus College 3: The Vaqueros

continued their offensive onslaught, amassing 16 hits in Tuesday's

Western State Conference Southern Division victory at Stengel Field.

Gabe Gonzalez and Milton Adolph had three hits apiece for GCC

(6-6, 3-1 in division), and Jesse Hirdler, Matt Jordan and Billy

Spottiswood had two hits each.

Jon Conley earned the win on the mound. Fernando Velasquez and

Aaron Anderson pitched in relief for Conley.
