She loves animals, but children are the first priority

April 28, 2004

As a longtime resident of Chevy Chase Canyon, home to the coyotes, I

implore you to do everything in your power to protect our children of

Glendale from the brawn and tenacity of the coyote. I do love

animals, but I love children more.

As a parent and teacher, I feel strongly that you, our elected

officials, be determined not to allow another child of Glendale

become injured or killed by a coyote. It can happen, because we all

know wild animals are unpredictable.

Yes, we can take our pet's food in at night, keep our trash cans

closed and locked, keep our pets indoor and perform all the tasks we

have been educated to keep the wild animals out of our neighborhoods.

But a coyote is a wild animal, and wild animals can be erratic.

Please protect our children and be more ingenious than the coyote.
