Ronnquist has been fascinated by art since elementary school. She took a ceramics class at La CaƱada High. She disliked it, however, since the class involved lessons in the creation of the ceramic piece - something Ronnquist isn't interested in at this point. She just wants to paint ceramics.

She became interested in painting ceramic while studying at Whitworth. She would often visit a ceramics establishment were she would paint whatever she wanted.

"The people there were really cool and funky," said said. "It was a nice place for me to get away from school and relax. That's when I really got into it."

But Ronnquist does not create art to make money or meet a deadline. Simply, she creates art to experience the process of making art. She also never minored in art during college due to a lack of interest in learning the "technical" side of art.

"I don't like to have restraits on what it is I can and can't do," Ronnquist said. "I would have minored in art if it didn't include all the technical parts of it."

Ronnquist holds a communications degree from Whitworth College.

Ronnquist is seeking individuals with an interest in painted ceramic tiles, frames or magnetic boards. For a small fee (which includes paint, brushes and other materials), she will paint any design.

Ronnquist works out of her home, but she hopes to someday work out of a shop, selling her paintings.
