Home and garden show coming to Glendale

NORTHEAST GLENDALE -- Glendale-based Nationwide Shows will sponsor

Glendale's first home and garden show in more than a decade.

More than 100 vendors will be at the Glendale Civic Auditorium,

1401 N. Verdugo Road, from June 25 to 27. More than 12,000 visitors

are expected.

The show will run from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 25, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.


June 26 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 27. Admission is $7, $4 for

seniors, with a special $2 senior price on June 25. Children younger

than 12 are admitted free.

New Cold Stone Creamery to open in Glendale

GLENDALE -- Cold Stone Creamery will open a new location in

Glendale on June 30 at 901 W. Glenoaks Blvd.

The store will celebrate with a grand opening July 1, but further

details were not available, company officials said.

Cold Stone Creamery makes customized ice creams for patrons by

mixing flavors with dozens of ingredients, including nuts, fresh

fruits, chocolate, baked goods and more.

Los Angeles Zoo admission price goes up $1

LOS ANGELES -- Beginning July 1, Los Angeles Zoo admission will

cost $1 more.

General admission used to be $9. As of July 1, general admission

tickets will be $10. Seniors 62 and older will pay $7 and children 2

to 12 will pay $5. Children younger than 2 get in for free. Parking

is free.

The Los Angeles Zoo is at 5333 Zoo Drive in Los Angeles. The zoo

is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except for Dec. 25.
