penalty box. Midfielders Jacque Phinney, Danielle Busta, Ibarra and

Johanna Moran shut down Samba the rest of the way.

Defenders Joelle Alberian, Tiernan Hebron, Brianna Ismale, Mallory

Carcich and goalkeeper Brianna Galvez stepped up, just like they had

during the entire tournament.

CV needed to defeat a tough Santa Clarita United club to advance

to the championship. Catherine Davis, Alberian and Sierra Rhoads

provided the scoring in a 3-0 victory.

CV defeated West Valley Pride, 1-0, on a goal by Carcich in its

first match, before handing Canyon PSA a 1-0 loss on a goal by Davis.
