Flintridge Sacred Heart leads the all-time season series with a
14-7 mark. The Spartans handed the Tologs a four-game loss last year
at La Canada to record their first win against Flintridge Sacred
Heart since 1999.
Flintridge Sacred Heart Coach Nancy Tinkham said the squads might
be in rebuilding phases.
"It's hard to say from a talent standpoint where La Canada will
be," Tinkham said. "But I always tend to put La Canada up there as
one of our most competitive matches of the season."
Tinkham's counterpart, Brock Turner, will get a taste of the
rivalry for the first time.
"This match stands by itself," Turner said. "I shouldn't have to
give [my players] too much motivation."
La Canada -- ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division IIIAA
-- will be led by senior outside hitter Anne Hillier, setter Sara
Heller and middle blocker Morgan Anderson.
Senior outside hitters Kelly Smiland and Katie Kriste and setter
Sam Orlandini will look to spark the Tologs, who are ranked No. 3 in
Division IVAA.
