Police seek public's help about boy's beating

Police are asking the public to help provide any information about an

alleged beating that left a 17-year-old Glendale boy in critical

condition.

The boy was taken to County-USC Medical Center after sustaining

"serious" head injuries. He was riding his bike when his assailants

attacked him for unknown reasons about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday on

Columbus Avenue between Chevy Chase Drive and Maple Street, Glendale

Police Det. Keith Soboleski said.

The attack is possibly gang-related, but police are not sure what

happened because there were no witnesses, Soboleski said.

"We got a call that [the boy] was staggering down the street,

bleeding from the head," he said.
