Woman finds strangers sleeping in her home

MONTROSE -- A Montrose woman returned to her apartment and found

that a man and woman she did not know broke in and fell asleep on her

bed, according to Glendale Police reports.

The 43-year-old woman told police about 9:15 a.m. Saturday that

she saw an unfamiliar black Ford Explorer parked in her parking lot,

and noticed several clothes in the SUV, as if the motorists were

living out of it, authorities said.

When she found the unidentified people sleeping, she woke them

told them to get out before she called 911. They dressed, and the man

said "sorry" before leaving, police said.

The victim told police nothing was missing from the apartment, and

she believes the man and woman got in because one of her children

left a door unlocked, police said.

Men cash fake checks at Cashiers Express

NORTHEAST GLENDALE -- About 15 fraudulent checks worth a combined

$3,000 were allegedly cashed at Cashiers Express, a clerk told

Glendale Police.

The clerk said that 15 men stood outside Cashiers Express, 106 N.

Glendale Ave., about 4:30 p.m. Friday and claimed to be employed at

the same business, according to police reports. They walked into the

store in groups of two and three and cashed the fake checks, police

said.

The clerk then noticed one of the men try a second time to cash

another check that had the same check number and was for the same

amount as his first, police said. When she told him she needed to

verify the check's authenticity, the suspects fled on foot.

Beeline begins six-month realignment

GLENDALE -- The Beeline's route 7 began a six-month realignment

Monday, changing its path from the Kenneth Village area to Glenoaks

Boulevard.

The new route should serve more residents, city officials said.

The realignment is expected to increase ridership.

Ridership data will be collected during the six-month trial, and

be compared to the original route. The city will consider permanent

changes based on the success of the new route.

Suspect to face charges in fatal road rage case

GLENDALE -- A murder suspect who fled to Armenia was taken into

custody this week, thanks to international inter-agency cooperation.

Shahen Keshishian, 32, a former Glendale resident, was booked

Wednesday on suspicion of murder in the killing of documentary

filmmaker Michael Craven on April 29, 2000. The killing is believed

to be a road rage incident, in which Keshishian's unknown passenger
