From 1996 to 2001, she worked at Providence St. Joseph Medical

Her favorite mediums are watercolor and oil. Her subject matter,

most often, is flowers because of their rich bright colors, so she

paints them into her still lifes, gardens and room settings. The

painting techniques she uses range from painterly washes of color to

more realistic depictions.

Also exhibiting at Descanso's Boddy House are Gerane Mooney and

Tenny Lim.

Mooney's fifth annual Descanso exhibit is a collection of original

impressionist oil works featuring spring and summer florals and

landscapes from her travels all over North America, Europe and the

British Isles.

Lim is displaying one-of-a-kind pieces made of hand-painted

porcelain, earthenware, stoneware and Raku, an ancient Japanese

technique in which the clay, glazes and firing process give each

piece its own unique art form and fused glass.

The show continues through Feb. 3. Descanso Gardens is at 1418

Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge.
