A World of Possibilities

January 27, 2005

How would your teenager like to snowboard in New Zealand this summer?

Do you want to give your 10-year-old the opportunity to spend lazy summer days on a ranch, horseback riding, swimming, fencing and more?

If you find yourself scrambling for summer plans like many other parents, plan ahead and visit the 14th annual Summer Opportunities Fair hosted by Westridge School, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 5.

This free event is offered as a community service for families in Pasadena, surrounding areas and greater Los Angeles who are going to be up against that age-old dilemma: "What are the kids going to do this summer?" Food and games make it fun for students of all ages.

Representatives from over 100 local, national and international camps and summer programs will be on hand to provide information brochures and videotapes to those interested. Summer opportunities for every budget will be represented, too. Community service opportunities for teenagers, and summer school programs for those who want an academic boost will also be included. Outdoor adventure camps, fine and performing arts programs and programs for children with special needs will also be represented.

The school is located in Pasadena at 324 Madeline Drive, one block east of Orange Grove Boulevard, south of California Boulevard. For additional information, call 626-799-1153, ext. 219.
