At least eight sporting events were called off Friday. Among the
canceled events included four baseball games, two softball games and
two tennis matches.
A San Fernando Valley Tournament baseball game between La Canada
and Canoga Park highs was called off. No make-up date was announced.
Another tournament game involving host Glendale and Eagle Rock was
pushed back to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Glendale Coach Jay Chadwick said
today's tournament game against host Marshall won't be played,
either.
A tournament game between La Salle and host Hoover was postponed
with no make-up date announced.
Flintridge Prep's nonleague opener against visiting Village
Christian at the Glendale Sports Complex was also canceled, but will
be made up at 3:15 p.m. March 23 at the same location.
Crescenta Valley's nonleague road softball game against Monrovia
on Friday was canceled, as was today's nonleague doubleheader against
visiting Calabasas. It wasn't clear if or when the games would be
played, Crescenta Valley High girls' Athletic Director Pat Snickles
said.
Friday's Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy softball game against
Greenhill, Texas, at the Glendale Sports Complex was canceled.
A nonleague softball doubleheader between Glendale and host La
Canada for 10 a.m. today was canceled. No make-up date has been set,
according to Glendale Coach Kris Kohlmeier.
A nonleague boys' tennis match between Sierra Vista and Flintridge
Prep at Scholl Canyon Park was canceled with no make-up date yet
determined.
The Glendale Community College-L.A. Pierce Western State
Conference men's tennis match at Glendale College on Friday was
called off and rescheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Glendale College.
