15-10 semifinal win in the Culver City Tournament on Saturday.
Stuart Lange had 12 kills, five digs and two aces for Crescenta
Valley, which got 11 kills and six digs from Julian Zielonka.
The Falcons got six kills from Adam Romine.
La Canada 3, Mark Keppel 0: Mike Gaudino had 17 kills and Andrew
Watson added 13 to power the host Spartans (4-1) to a 25-22, 25-14,
25-15 nonleague victory Monday.
Andrew Lee had 34 assists for La Canada, which won its fourth
consecutive match.
The Spartans got six kills and five blocks from Joe Hummel and
Chris Sullivan, respectively.
St. Francis 3, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 0: Justin Corio finished
with 10 kills and two aces to carry the host Golden Knights to a
25-14, 25-22, 25-14 Mission League win Monday.
St. Francis (6-3, 2-2 in league) got eight kills from C.J. Walker
and 17 assists from Patrick Farmer.
BASEBALL
Crescenta Valley 15, Muir 1 (4 1/2 innings): The Falcons scored
eight runs in the first and added five in the third to post a
mercy-rule Pacific League victory at Stengel Field on Monday.
Brian Longpre earned the win and Taylor Chambers added a double
for the Falcons (5-1, 2-0).
Pasadena 4, Glendale 0: The Nitros dropped to 3-3, 1-1 in the
Pacific League following Monday's loss at home.
SOFTBALL
Hesperia 2, Glendale 1: Heather Brusokas had a run-scoring single
in the top of the fourth inning for the Nitros (5-2) in a semifinal
game of the Lancaster Tournament at Lancaster Park on Monday. Audrey
Andrade scored Glendale's run.
Hesperia scored two unearned run in the sixth off Glendale
starting pitcher Jennifer Nazarian, who struck out four in a
complete-game effort.
Glendale, which had its five-game winning streak snapped, will
meet L.A. Poly in the tournament's third-place game Saturday at
Lancaster Park.
Monrovia 1, La Canada 0: The Spartans opened up the Rio Hondo
League portion of their schedule with a road loss Monday.
