BASEBALL
Hoover 6, Pasadena 5: Chili Jaco delivered a sacrifice fly to cap
a two-run comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning to spark the
Tornadoes in a Pacific League game Tuesday.
Jaco hit a fly ball to medium right field that was far enough to
score Brian Moon, who tied the game with a single.
Hoover (5-3, 1-3 in league) got two hits each from Fernando Frias
and Moon. The Tornadoes finished with eight hits.
Hoover pitcher Tae Kwon (3-2) picked up the victory.
La Canada 4, San Marino 0: Senior starting pitcher Matt Sprowles
(4-0) struck out 10 and scattered three hits in a complete-game
effort to pace the host Spartans in a Rio Hondo League contest
Tuesday.
Matt Motia led La Canada (8-0, 4-0 in league) with two hits and
two runs scored. Teammate Mitchell Maseredjian had a triple and
scored a run.
Stanley Kim added a run-scoring double for the Spartans, who got
one stolen base each from T.J. Trumbo, John Willson and Austin Brady.
Flintridge Prep 11, Marshall Fundamental 8: Austin Raines finished
with two hits and drove in three runs to carry the host Rebels in a
nonleague game at the Glendale Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Raines delivered a two-run triple to give the Flintridge Prep
(4-2) an 8-6 lead.
Flintridge Prep pitcher Ben Jones (1-0) picked up the win. Matt
Stein pitched the final three innings to notch his second save this
season.

with seven hits, four runs scored and five runs batted in to propel
the visiting Falcons in a Pacific League game called after five
