DREIER TRAVELING IN MIDDLE EAST
Rep. David Dreier and colleagues are visiting the Middle East
during the congressional recess. Last week Dreier, a Republican, who
represents La Crescenta, visited Egypt, where he spoke at the
American University in Cairo.
This week Dreier visited American troops in Iraq and leaders of
the interim Iraqi government. Dreier's delegation gifted the troops
with phone cards and tourniquets, and gave school supplies to Iraqi
school children.
Dreier met with interim Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi and other
leaders of the Iraqi government. Dreier also met with the Iraqi
vice-president and prime ministerial candidate Ibrahim al-Jaafari.
He will also stop in Lebanon, Cyprus, Brussels and Belgium before
returning this weekend.
