Talent search winners announced

Several performers won the city's 18th talent search last week and

will perform their routines May 12 at the Alex Theatre.

Instrumental winners in the 8- and 9-year-old category were: first

place, Kiersten Abueg; second place, Shake Khachatian; third place,

Sarah Worden; James Bartlett. Ten- to 14-year- old winners were:

first place, Eric Lee; second, Andrew Shigeta; third, Graham Goldich

and Tim Doma; Justin Kopcynsk. Fifteen-to 17-year-old winners were:

first place, Suzanna Kazaryan; second, Jeromy Velasco; third, Laura

Berger and Arpi Samuelian. Dance program winners in the 5- to

9-year-old category were: first place, "Welcome to the Family and

Steam Heat"; second, "Dance of the Little Swans"; third, "Never Had a

Friend Like Me" and "Poodles." For 10- to 12-year olds, "Celtic Step

Dance" won first place; second, "Baby I'm a Star," and "Pirates of

the Caribbean"; third, "Siamese Cats" and "Hip Hop." Thirteen- to

17-year-olds: first place went to "Get it Started" and "Medium

Military"; second, "Funky Jazz"; third, "Gypsy" and "Freak Out."
