College Scholarship Fund. Admission is $2, and children 12 and under
accompanying their parents are free.
Fundraiser to benefit Stepping Stone
Support community theater by having fun at the Stepping Stone
Players fundraising event called "Those Were the Days" in honor of
the group's upcoming production of "The Music Man."
The event, from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at 1625 Grandview Ave., will
feature barbecued baby-back ribs, fried chicken, baked beans, potato
salad and a variety of desserts. Items like tickets to Disneyland,
Universal Studios and coupons for massage and salon services will be
featured at the silent auction. A pie auction will feature dozens of
homemade pies.
Tickets are $35 a person, $60 for a couple and $10 for each child
16 and under. Proceeds from the event will go to the Stepping Stone
Players production of "The Music Man," which will run the first three
weekends of September.

Local youths to take stage at Skirball
Experience the music live and up close as the Glendale Youth
Orchestra invites the audience to sit among them at 4 p.m. Sunday at
the Skirball Cultural Center.
The group, led by conductor Brad Keimach, will perform works by
some of Albert Einstein's favorite composers, including Mozart and
Brahms.
The concert will be presented in association with the Skirball
exhibition "Einstein."
The Skirball Cultural Center is at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd. in Los
Angeles. Tickets are $9 for general admission and $6 for Skirball

Student to perform Concertino
A La Canada Flintridge girl won the first-ever Young Artists
Competition sponsored by the Claremont Winds and will perform
Concertino for clarinet by Carl Maria von Weber Sunday.
Los Angeles County High School for the Arts junior Lauren Mintz,
17, will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Garrison Theater, at 10th
and Dartmouth streets in Claremont. The concert is free and open to
the public.
