Former Falcon coach to run hoops camp

Former Crescenta Valley High boys' basketball Coach Jim Smiley

will run his 14th annual basketball camp in July.

Smiley will run two separate one-week sessions, from July 11-15

and July 18-22. Each session is $125 per camper, and a there's a $25

discount if both sessions are purchased.

The camp will run from 8 a.m. to noon and be held at Crescenta

Valley High. It's open to boys and girls ages 8 to 17.

Rebel Softball camp to be held this summer

The Rebel Softball Camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

June 27-July 1 and July 5-8 at the Flintridge Prep softball field,

4543 Crown Ave., La Canada Flintridge.

Former Flintridge Prep Coach Anne Konrad will conduct the camp,

which is geared for children in grades 3-8.

The cost is $175 for the first session and $150 for the second

session.

The camp will feature individualized instruction, hitting,

fielding, baserunning, conditioning and an evaluation.

CV Little League holding registration

The Crescenta Valley Little League announced sign-up dates for its

upcoming Fall Ball season.

The league is open to boys (ages 7-14) and girls (8-14) and has no

residence or boundary limitations.

The cost is $100 per player or $1,000 per team. The fee includes

uniforms, field rentals and operating expenses. The season runs from

September to December.

Registration dates are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and June 18

from 1 to 5 p.m. All sign-up dates are at Montrose Park.

Tim Herman Tournament to be held

The 12th annual Tim Herman Tournament will be held June 24-27 at

several locations in Glendale and La Crescenta.

Several divisions will be featured in the baseball tournament. A

co-education division will be held for children, ages 5-6. There will

also be a 7- 8-year-old division along with 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.
