The Crescenta Valley Amateur Radio Club invites children and their

families to the American Radio Relay League's Kids Day event from 10

a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crescenta Valley County Park's parking lot, at

Honolulu and New York avenues in La Crescenta. Children will be given

the opportunity to use a Ham radio, use Morse code and talk to other

The Glendale City Employees Assn. will host a Food and Fun BBQ

from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pacific Park, 501 S. Pacific Ave.,

The owners of Havana Beach Cafe will be celebrating their

restaurant's second anniversary from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. The

restaurant is at 2235 Honolulu Ave., Montrose. There will be live

music, door prizes and a cigar-rolling expert. For more information,

The third annual Triple Goddess Talent Show will be from 12:30 to

3 p.m. at the La Crescenta Church of Religious Science, Chaffee Hall,

4845 Dunsmore Ave., La Crescenta. The event will showcase song,

drumming, prose, poetry, drama, dance and didgeridoo performed by

women from ages 13 to 89. Admission is free. For more information,

Adams Square Merchants Assn. presents "Summer A' Faire" from 3 to

10 p.m. along the 1100 block of South Adams Street. Come for food,

rides, slides and live entertainment.

The Child Educational Center, a La Canada Flintridge-based agency

designed to facilitate the development of children, will be

celebrating its 25th birthday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Steele

House on the Caltech campus, 355 S. Holliston Ave, Pasadena. The

dinner event will honor Dr. Bruce Murray, Ret. Lt. General Charles

Terhune and Eric and Elyssa Nelson and will celebrate the center's 25

years of quality child care services that extend to the Caltech, Jet

Propulsion Laboratory, Glendale and Burbank communities. Tickets are

$125 each and include appetizers and a sit-down dinner and admission

to the center's 16th annual Wine Tasting Event. For tickets and more

Glendale Community College's monthly Swap Meet/Flea Market will be

from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the college's upper parking lot, at the

corner of Mountain Street and the Glendale 2 freeway. Admission is
