The Pasadena POPS Orchestra - utilizing dancers, magicians and a dazzling light show to complement its own melodious musings - presents a musical portrait of classic children's tales in twin concerts July 15 and 16 at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive in La CaƱada.

Featuring the vocals of international cabaret star Anna Bergman, "Fairy Tales Can Come True" explores the fantasy realm of enduring tales from everyone's childhood, bringing to life music from "Sleeping Beauty," "Cinderella," "Pinocchio," "Peter Pan," "The Wizard of Oz" and others.

In addition to Bergman, the other guest artist is Magic Castle magician Tina Lenert, both of whom will perform under the baton of Pasadena POPS music director Rachael Worby.

Bergman, whose repertoire traverses the worlds of Broadway, opera and nightclubs, will offer selections including "When You Wish Upon a Star," "Never Neverland," "Over the Rainbow," "Out of My Dreams" and other beloved favorites.

The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for pre-concert dining.

Next on the 2005 concert schedule for The Pasadena POPS is "Guys and Dolls," presented on Aug. 19 and 20.
