SANTA ANA HEIGHTS FIRE STATION
The city plans to build a fire station and training tower at the
corner of Acacia Street and Mesa Drive in Santa Ana Heights, but the
property's zoning needs to be changed first. Residents were initially
concerned about the height of the tower, because it slightly exceeds
what's now allowed in the area. But city staff members have hammered
out a special zoning proposal that would list strict criteria for the
design and operation of the fire facilities.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Staff members recommend approving the new zoning.
BAHIA CORINTHIAN YACHT CLUB
The city agreed in 2004 to review the yacht club's parking plan by
this month, because over the years, the club had made changes to its
property that weren't approved by the city. Since last year, the
yacht club has finished all city-required improvements, including
using valet parking and rearranging facilities on the site to allow
more parking spaces.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The commission will hear public comments on the issue and could
require other changes.
