Balboa Elementary School will have its 75th anniversary

celebration pancake breakfast and silent auction from 9 a.m. to 1

p.m. at the school, 1844 Bel Aire Drive. Balboa alumni are invited to

The Glendale Marketplace shopping center, on the east side of

South Brand Boulevard between Colorado and Broadway, will have its

End of Summer Jam Session, featuring free live music performances by

local talent from noon to 10 p.m. today and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Proceeds from a $1 charity drawing will go to the Glendale Chapter of

the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina victims.

Glen-Park Retirement Community is having the third annual Penny

Carnival to benefit the Alzheimer's Assn. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at

1220 Mariposa St., Glendale. There will be game booths, prizes,

The Stepping Stone Players presents "The Music Man" by Meredith

Willson at 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoover High

School auditorium, 651 Glenwood Road., Glendale. An American Sign

Montrose Church will have an Open House to welcome new members and

dedicating the completely renovated 78-year-old church at 2409

Florencita Drive, Montrose. There will be two services, at 8:30 and

11:30 a.m., along with a separate dedication ceremony at 10 a.m. in

The Montrose Shopping Park Assn.'s fourth annual Montrose

Invitational Classic Car Show is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 2300

and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue in the Montrose Shopping Park.

Admission is free. Among the selected vehicles displayed will be a

1937 Rolls Royce and a 1936 Packard. Along with the car show will be

the Montrose Harvest Market and live music by the Martini Kings, the

Gremoli New Orleans Jazz Band and Misplaced Priorities. For
