On offense, the Gladiators were led by the passing and running of quarterback Jack Paton who passed for more than 100 yards, including first down passes of seven, 34 and 22 yards. On the ground the Gladiators were led by the rushing of Glen Dudley who ran for one touchdown and more than 60 yards in total rushing.

In the first quarter, the Gladiators' defense, led by defensive ends Michael Singelyn and Keith Enterante, held the Covina Vikings to a single first down. Enterante recovered a fumble on the second play of the game. Tailback Glen Dudley then carried 16 yards down to the Vikings' seven-yard line where, two plays later, Paton hit Enterante for a seven-yard TD to put the Gladiators up, 6-0.

In the second quarter, full back Michael Singelyn had several good gains including a seven-yard rush for a first down. On third and long, Paton again hooked up with Enterante for a 33-yard TD to put the Gladiators up, 12-0.

On the following kickoff, Kevin Cooper stripped the ball carrier and Lucas Gauthier recovered the fumble. After the Gladiators were forced to punt, the Vikings drove down field, but were stopped on fourth down when linebacker Joey Dowling stopped the Vikings' tailback two yards short of a first down.

After two short runs, Glen Dudley, behind the blocking of center Joshua Lacey, Tyler Zsebik, Jeff Reid, Kris Collins, Kyle Jung, and Brendan Daly, broke free and went on a great 46-yard run for a TD to put the Gladiators up, 18-0. Although Covina was again driving down the field late in the second quarter, cornerback Matthew Trowbridge intercepted the ball and ran 27 yards back to the Gladiators' 46-yard line.

In the third quarter, the Vikings' offense finally came to life and scored on its first possession to cut the Gladiators' lead to 18-7. A successful onside kick put the Covina Vikings back in business, but linebacker Joey Dowling stripped the runner of the ball and recovered the fumble on the Gladiators' 37-yard line.

On fourth and long, quarterback Jack Paton found tight end Keith Enterante far down field for a 23-yard gain. Fullback Mike Singelyn then pounded the ball up the middle and scored on a four- yard TD to put the Gladiators up, 24-7.

In the fourth quarter, the Vikings came back and scored another TD to cut the Gladiator led to 24-14. On its next possession, facing fourth and nine, Paton again found Enterante deep down the sideline for a 27-yard game. Two plays later, Paton scrambled for a 22-yard TD putting the Gladiators up, 30-14. The Covina Vikings' last drive was stopped when defensive end Mike Singelyn hit the quarterback causing him to fumble deep in Covina territory and the ball was recovered by defensive tackle Griffin Longo.

The defense played particularly well led by Dowling, Singelyn and Enterante.

The defense also included Rian Simpson, Clay Cassis, Kevin Cooper, Jordan Johannes, Bercut Smith, Robert Mancilla, Cody Rodriguez, Lucas Gauthier, Shane Tierney, Dillon Coliflower, Max Foster, Kris Collins and Derek Patao.

On special teams, punt returner Christopher Petito had an excellent game fielding several difficult kicks.
