* GOLF: The Corona del Mar girls golf team captured a 237-245
Pacific Coast League victory over Laguna Beach Tuesday at Newport
Beach Country Club.
Katie McKitterick led the effort at the par-35 course with 41,
while Jessica Milner shot 44, Jonna Kim shot 47 and Michelle Drucker
shot 48.
The Sea Kings improved to 8-3, 5-2 in league.
Pirates shut out Dons
* SOCCER: The Orange Coast College's men soccer team beat Santa
Ana Tuesday, 2-0, in an Orange Empire Conference match at Santa Ana.
The loss was Santa Ana's first loss of the season.
Joel Walker scored the first OCC goal in the 62nd minute. Chris
Dunckel added the insurance goal after an assist by Ian Cone.
Goalkeeper Trent Painter made nine saves to record the shutout for
OCC (8-4-3, 3-2 in conference).
Moss sparks Mustangs
* GOLF: Medalist Maggie Moss shot 49 for Costa Mesa High in a
270-299 victory over Westminster at Los Lagos course Tuesday.
The Mustangs improved to 2-5, 2-4 in league after the Golden West
League victory.
CdM's Lee leads way
* TENNIS: The Corona del Mar High girls tennis team defeated
University, 15-3, in Pacific Coast League action Tuesday. Freshman
Flora Lee led the way by sweeping her sets without losing a game.
Rachael Miller and Rachel Bryan also swept their singles sets.
The Sea Kings, who improved to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in the Pacific
Coast League, host San Clemente today.
Sage remains perfect
* VOLLEYBALL: The Sage Hill School girls volleyball team dominated
in the first of three games against host Capo Valley Christian in a
25-2, 25-14, 25-15, Academy League victory Tuesday.
Sage (7-0, 3-0 in league) remains undefeated and today, faces
league rival St. Margaret's.
Eagles victorious
* WATER POLO: The Estancia High boys water polo team claimed a
16-13 double overtime Golden West League victory Tuesday over
visiting Ocean View.
The teams were tied at 11 at the end of regulation, and in the
first overtime Trevor McDonald scored two goals, while Danny Alderete
scored one. Leonard Juska, who recorded nine saves, kept the Seahawks
scoreless.
In the second overtime, Chad Kunert sealed the victory with two
goals.
