The people of California spoke in a clear, convincing and compelling manner at the polls. They voted to reject the leadership of shallowness and failure, division and macho-ism, dysfunction and stagnation, and, above all, the governor's imposition of his elitist vision and his misguided and fanatical belief of being the rescuer of California.
Californians have common sense, believe in themselves, and have the vision and willingness to trust those who trust them. In times of need and crisis, Californians do not shrink, run and hide. They face the challenges and, through their creative and energetic sense of passion and responsibility, they go to work, face the challenge, build a better mousetrap and go on with their lives. Contrary to those among us who look at a glass and see it half empty, Californians see a half-full glass and look for ways to fill her up!
On the other hand, Arnold Schwarzenegger believes in himself and his omnipotent powers, which had brought him fame and fortune. He has acted in so many "Terminator" roles on the screen that he appears to believe what he sees. Hollywood movies are not reality. The challenges that face us are real and demand that we become creative, collaborative, and visionary in our approach.
