Children will delight in the afternoon of face painting, cookie decorating, seasonal songs, magic and dance, including a Nutcracker Preview performed in the enchanting land of sweets. Party attendees are encouraged to dress up for high tea and will have a chance to win Clara's crown or a Nutcracker doll.

The menu will include: Clara's Tea Sandwiches, Melange of Fresh Seasonal Fruit, Drosselmeyer Mini Scones, Chocolate Strawberry Mouse King, The Nutcracker Dessert and Lady Haverthon Tea. Coffee and fruit punch will also be served.

During the course of Clara's Holiday Tea Party, tickets for the Burbank-based Media City Ballet's performances of The Nutcracker will be available for purchase. Performances of the ballet will be given on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. (Kid's Night), Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. The ballet will be choreographed by Natasha Middleton-Kettebekov, artistic director for the Media City Ballet, along with assistant choreographer Askar Kettebekov. The ballet will be presented in two acts, featuring talented classically trained professional dancers, in a presentation staged in the tradition of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo.

MCB's production of The Nutcracker will feature lavish costumes, breathtaking special effects and spectacular sets designed by Bob Davies of Walt Disney Feature Animation and John Pomeroy of Universal Features Animation.
