High wind gusts and low humidity have caused the National Weather Service to extend its red flag warning until 6 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday).
The red flag warning was issued for the mountains and valleys of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
The NWS expected Santa Ana winds to weaken temporarily starting Wednesday. Reports expected moderate to strong Santa Anas to return last night and continue through tomorrow night.
Relative humidity was at or below 15 percent Wednesday and was expected to drop through tomorrow.
