Show Heart for Heart Prevention

The Commission on the Status of Women and the Glendale City Council support and adoption of the American Heart Association's National Wear Red For Women Day.

Wear Red for Women day is scheduled for Feb. 3. According to the Commission, which has members from Glendale including the foothills area, heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, claiming more than 500,000 women's lives every year.

Go Red For Women is a nationwide movement to empower women to love and save their hearts through lifestyle choices and actions.

Hundreds of companies and organizations across America will join together on National Wear Red Day to help the American Heart Association support the ongoing research and education about women and heart disease.
