Public input has been gathered over the years by the County for the library. Anyone not yet able to give input about this project is encouraged to contact Andrus by e-mail, or by leaving a note for her at the library.
"This will be a wonderful addition to our community and will allow us to have a focal point or a town center. It is important to give the community something they can be proud of and can feel is their own. Supervisor Antonovich is committed to this project, and his staff has been great to work with as well as the architects, Carde Ten. They are receptive to the community desires and needs. It has been an honor and privilege to work with them on this project," Andrus said.
According to FRIENDS President and La Crescenta Resident, Elaine Silvestro, the county received requests by FRIENDS over a decade ago to build a bigger, better library. The Town Council under the leadership of Danette Erickson, who served as Council President at that time, decided to help with this project about eight years ago. She has made it a priority. Any resident or business interested in contributing funds, helping with fund-raisers, or commit to donating certain items, please contact the FRIENDS' New Library and Community Center Project Chairman at 632-8972.
