"Call Japan!" is a two-person art exhibition at the Glendale Community College Art Gallery opening April 1 and continuing through May 13.
Artists Christie Frields and Jessica Rath share an interest in ikebana, the tradition of Japanese flower arranging and the form's balance of nature and culture. The show features three of Frields' sculptures. They are vertical pieces made from black PVC pipe and Plexiglas. Rath is showing 10 Cibachrome photographs.
A reception for the artists will be held Sat., April 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the gallery. Admission to the gallery is free. The college is located at 1500 N. Verdugo Rd. The gallery is located in the Library Building. Exhibition hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon. through Thurs., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fri. and Sat. by appointment only.
