"We are seeking support in any way we can and an audience everywhere we can," he said. "And, the church is near the Burbank and Glendale border."

Special guest artists are the Mayfield Singers Children's Choir from Mayfield School in Pasadena.

Shtangrud is their teacher.

"They will be doing a short bit in the first half of the program," he said.

Performing with adults is educational for the youngsters, Shtangrud said.

"It's a chance for them to sing in front of a real audience in a real concert setting," he said.

"And it brings beauty to a concert, having the children singing."

The pianist for the children's choir is Shtangrud's wife, Anna Krendel.
