May 10, 2006

A pure dining experience is what guests are treated to at Burbank's French 75 Bistro.

French 75 Bistro prides itself on a blend of French and American bistro "comfort foods." Your tastebuds will be tantalized with the dishes of Coq Au Vin ( chicken braised in red wine with bacon and herbs served tableside en cassolette), short ribs a la Bourguignon, roast rack of lamb with sweet garlic confiture, prime rib French dip and chicken and wild mushroom Crepes.

There are also unique combinations such as "Three Way" duck which includes a crispy leg confit, a rare breast and seared foie gras, and a standout platter of seafood made with a selection of Pacific oysters, Gulf shrimp, seasonal crab and half a lobster.

French 75 Bistro offers wide selection of soups and salads for the light eater. There is French onion soup as well as a lobster bisque that is blended with cognac with a hint of smoked paprika.

There are salads to satisfy any palate. The smoked chicken endive salad is filled with apples, spiced walnuts, watercress and Roquefort. The 'salade rustique' encapsules the flavors of warm herb roasted chicken, pine nuts, sun-dried cranberries, thyme croutons, greens and warm jus de poulet. And, there is a seafood 'Louis' made with shrimp, crab, asparagus, tomatoes, artichokes, and haricots verts.

The Hot Callebaut chocolate souffle is the "Grand Damé" of their desserts. It is hard to resist its chocolaty aroma when it emerges from the kitchen. Presented at tableside, a cointreau cream is then poured into it's center. Other sweet delights include a warm rustic apple tart which is accompanied with cinnamon ice cream, a white chocolate brioche pudding, and a chocolate, hazelnut and banana crepes served with a cognac sauce and vanilla bean ice cream.

There is an artisan cheese sampler platter that is also a perfect accompaniment to your meal.

To complete your dining experience, try the French press coffee which is a pampering experience. The server presses the coffee at your table which is then poured into a pre-warmed cup.
