Although it won its first three games in pool play competition, the Crescenta Valley boys' water polo team wound up third in its annual summer water polo tournament.
The COLA (City of Los Angeles) topped runner up Los Angeles Loyola, 10-7, to capture the title. The Falcons beat the club team from the Rose Bowl for third place.
CV scored pool play wins over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, El Segundo and Loyola.
Mason Hawthorne led the Falcons' offense with 22 goals. Defensively, CV goalie Sam Blum and Ben Stephens and Nick Lee kept the other squads in check.
