A Simple Thank You

After reading Jennifer Berry's Random Acts of Kindness I have been wanting to thank the gentleman who helped my husband recently.

I do not know his name.About two weeks ago my husband fell on Foothill Boulevard while getting out of his truck.

This gentleman saw my husband lying on the street next to his truck. He stopped his car and parked it in the median and crossed the street to help my husband. He immediately ran in to the pet hospital to call paramedics. I want to thank this gentleman for helping my husband. People do care and we are lucky that we live in the Crescenta Valley.

A Reply to Mr. Lusby

The letter published in the Aug. 4 Crescenta Valley Sun, written by Tom Lusby, is screaming for a reply. In it, Mr. Lusby states that he spoke with Principal Mike Livingston about the Crescenta Valley High School baccalaureate scandal perpetrated on the invited guest, an area pastor, by he and Principal Linda Evans. Lusby quotes Livingston as saying that the reason for this action came from "attorneys at the district level and probably related to the 'separation of church and state.'" I find it odd that these "attorneys at the district level" didn't warn Livingston that waiting until the last moment to unceremoniously boot a featured speaker without, to this day, giving an apology or even a rudimentary explanation for this action, could be a costly mistake.

As an excuse, it comes off as awkward and hacked together at the moment of inquiry, and it just doesn't ring true.

Even more laughable is the statement that Livingston "seemed genuinely disappointed and implied that he himself would have included the pastor in the ceremony." How contrary for Livingston to say such a thing after jointly throwing a fit with Ms. Evans, minutes before the event started, expelling the pastor, from the event.

Too many of the rights of the majority in this country have been trampled on by the self-proclaimed elite of this country who always expect us to do as they say, not as they do.

Livingston and Evans are just small fish in this academic malaise that is turning our country upside down, but they are our little fish, in our little pond, with our kids being subverted by their one-world view.

If you are as sick of it as I am, I urge you to correspond with the American Center for Law and Justice.

They have a distinguished record of defending the rights of Christians who have been trampled on by these kinds of incidents. Their web address is www.aclj.org.

They have the experience and expertise to stand up to this current and very real march toward destruction of all that our founding fathers gave us. Nothing less will do.
